- 13-year old crown prince Imphras II runs away from Lyrabar to live on the Pirate Isles for 3 years. He is coronated upon his return.[4]

- The Dark Army of the Night infiltrate the High House of Stars via its cellars and slaughter most of the Selûnite clergy before an alarm can be raised. When help arrives, the temple is an inferno of Shadow Magic darkfire. Waterdeep's Firefighters find it nearly impossible to put out the black flames.[5]
- The Malaugrym appear in Faerûn.[2]

- Vanrak Moonstar turns himself into a Death Knight.[6]
- Pirate King Immurk attempts to steal the entire naval fleet of Westgate. The plan is unsuccessful, and several of the ships commandeered by the pirate's buccaneers are destroyed by Westgate's navy. The event becomes known as The Rout of the Pirate King.[7]
