- Netheril attempts to establish diplomatic relations with High Imaskar. However, the effort falls apart when a ship given to the Imaskari by the Netherese is attacked by sea monsters and the Netherese abandon the Imaskari crew.[1]
- The Shadovar leader Herzgo Alegni applies pressure on Lord Hugo Babris of Neverwinter to have the Winged Wyvern Bridge renamed in his own honor.[2]

- A small adventuring party rediscovers the ancient dwarven city of Gauntlgrym. Consisting of Jarlaxle Baenre, Athrogate, and a trio of powerful Thayans, they awaken the ancient primordial Maegera when Korvin Dor'crae hypnotically forces Athrogate to activate the forges.[3]

- The Ruining: The city of Neverwinter is destroyed when Mount Hotenow erupts[3][4] as a result of the awakening of Maegera, a primordial held in slumber through the craftsmanship of the dwarves of Delzoun and the elves of Iliyanbruen at the heart of Gauntlgrym.[5]
Deaths in 1451 DR
- All known heirs of the royal House Alagondar die in the eruption of Mount Hotenow. Their spirits haunt Castle Never.[4][6]
