- A plague known as the "Leper's Curse" ravages every city in the Shoon Imperium. Sufferers experience no pain, and so soldiers afflicted with the curse are sent on suicide missions against elf encampments in Amn and Tethyr.[1] All told, about 19% of the population dies in the plague, including 33% of the population of Calimport.[1][2]
