- Eljak Ferenfal, the Horned Ranger, discovers the body of a Rashemaar berserker while hunting winter wolves across the ice-bound Bluefang Water. Among the corpse's possessions is an impressive greatsword, later identified as the Greatsword of Impiltur. Eljak presents the sword and a cloak made from the pelt of a winter wolf to King Halanter II.[1]
Deaths in 826 DR
- The great red dragon Mairogra dies. Her mantle of Dragon Queen, along with the artifact known as the Crown of the Mountain, passes on to the benevolent gold dragon Valamaradace.[2][3]
- High King Byron Cymrych I of the Moonshae Isles dies of natural causes.[4]
