- Foreseeing the death of one of her Chosen, the goddess Mystra appears to the archmage Sammaster and makes him a new Chosen of Mystra. Sammaster later meets Elminster to learn how to handle his new powers, including silver fire.[1]

- Sea elves found the city of Selu'Maraar in the Dragon Reach. It is shielded from persecution from the other states of Serôs by distance and the plentiful fishing boats and sailing ships on the surface. The sea elves make little contact with other nations of Serôs or the surface world, bar Keryvyr.[2]
