Aasim Karim was a Zakharan desert rider and head of the House of Al-Karim living in the desert outside of Hiyal around 1367 DR.[note 1][1]

Aasim's daughter Alia brought news of an unprovoked attack against her brother that resulted in his death. The wealthy merchant who perpetrated the attack, a man from Hiyal named Farid, incurred the wrath of the entire family as a result.[1]
