Abolish shadows was an abjuration spell that disrupted and destroyed magical shadows.[1]
Effects[]
Upon casting this spell, a wave of dark energy burst forth from the caster, up to 30' (9.1 m) away, in an area 60' (18.3 m) in diameter. Any shadow creatures caught within the blast, including shadows, shades,[1] or other beings from the Shadowfell, were badly damaged and could be destroyed outright. Furthermore, any spell effects that originated from the same plane, spells originating the shadow subschool of illusion magic or spells that manipulated darkness, had the possibility of being dispelled outright.[2]

In addition to verbal and somatic components, this spell required the material component of a small piece of obsidian.[2]
