Speaker Amalrae was a member of an intrigue in the mid-to-late 14th century DR.[1]

Let one speak now who brings wisdom to the matter at hand.
— Speaker Amalrae, 1369 DR

Abilities[]

She could cast spells.[1]

Activities[]

Amalrae was part of the nameless cabal headed by Halaster Blackcloak.[1]

Relationships[]

She was part of a cell within the nameless cabal under Halaster, and this cell contacted him directly on at least one occasion. Her cell had eighteen people, fifteen of whom were Red Wizards, including Azmyrandyr and Roeblen,[note 1] and two of whom were Sharran priests.[1]

Skloon was her rival, whom she hated.[1]

History[]

In the Year of the Gauntlet, 1369 DR, after the killing of the Red Wizards Azmyrandyr and Roeblen, Amalrae attended a meeting with the rest of their cabal; there, she learned that Thaltar Glaervar, a third Red Wizard linked to the other two by the magics of Halaster Blackcloak, had fought the Simbul and prevailed, taking a wand of hers as a trophy. Before more could be discussed, the wand proved to be the Simbul herself shapechanged; she soon turned herself into an energy field that eliminated all of them.[1]

Appendix[]

Notes[]

  1. Sixteen people are at a table for that cabal's meeting, and it is known Azmyrandyr and Roeblen are part of the cabal, but absent. Thus, though thirteen people are described as wearing the purple and red robes of Thay, the habitual number of Red Wizards in that cabal is actually fifteen.
