Apocalypto was a book that contained the poetic prophecies of an unknown author. It described their vision of the supposed end of the multiverse.[1]

Description[]

Aside from having a black cover, the tome was rather nondescript.[1]

Notable Owners[]

A copy of Apocalypto, or perhaps the original manuscript, was in the possession of Thurstwell Vanthampur as of the Year of Three Ships Sailing, 1492 DR.[1][note 1]

It was noteworthy that the libraries of Candlekeep did not contain a copy of this book as of that year.[2]

Appendix[]

Notes[]

  1. Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus is set in 1492 DR per the "Baldur's Gate Gazetteer" section (p. 159) and a clarification from the adventure's lead writer. Baldur's Gate III, which is a direct sequel to Descent into Avernus set immediately after its events, is also set in 1492 DR. In an apparent error, pages 7 and 47 of Descent into Avernus describes certain events as occurring "fifty years" after 1444 DR (1494 DR).
