These devils had 6‑foot-tall (1.8‑meter), naked humanoid forms that looked to be flayed and sandblasted. They weighed around 190 pounds (86 kilograms) and constantly oozed blood. This flayed appearance and oozing of blood was caused by a 10‑foot-wide (3‑meter) radius halo of swirling abrasive sand that surrounded them wherever they went.
Aratons were impervious to harm from fire-based spells and abilities, and had some level of spell resistance and regeneration. They could regrow lost limbs and even instantly re-attach them by holding them against their stump. In addition, the abrasive sand that surrounded them harmed any creature that got within it.
