An athanor was an alchemical device that was used in the process of transmutation.[1]
History[]
Over the course of many years, the alhoon known as the Beast Lord used athanors of varying sizes to create twisted creatures[note 1] from the goblin population of Dekanter.[2] Eventually, it create a man-sized, egg-shaped athanor made of brass that was powered by one of the lost Nether Scrolls from the ancient empire of Netheril.[3]
