The Center District of Athkatla was the city's mercantile heart. In this sprawling ward, on the southern shores of the Alandor River,[2] gold would always flow.[1] The Center District was constantly abuzz with the hustle and bustle of trades being made and deals being brokered.[1]
While downtown Athkatla was home to a great number of wealthy taverns, inns and halls, its most famous landmark was the great open-air marketplace, the shopping stadium known as Waukeen's Promenade.[3]
Notable locations[]
- Daranthur's Hall: One of the district's shared-roof markets[4][note 1]
- Waukeen's Promenade: The magnificent and famous market of Athkatla, full of shops, stalls, tents with merchants from all over Faerûn[6]
