The axes of the slicing storm were a pair of unique enchanted throwing axes crafted by Laeral Silverhand for Saarvin in the late 15th century DR. They were just two of many pieces of so-called "Silverhand gear" crafted for adventurers who helped to protect Waterdeep.[1]

Laeral crafted these axes to complement Saarvin's gift for being able to maneuver himself on the battlefield to turn his enemies' defensive positions into liabilities.[1]

When thrown at an enemy, the axes of the slicing storm had a chance of also attacking the target's nearby allies.[1]
