Azirrhat, meaning the Slashed Rocks in Common, was a small cluster of peaks located in the Sword region of Anauroch.[1] More recently the spelling Azrrhat has become accepted.[2][3]
Description[]
The spires of Azirrhat were arranged in a form that resembled the foot of a chicken.[1]
Geography[]
They were located in the northeast region of The Sword, north of the Colored Waters oasis.[4]
History[]
Some time around the mid–14th century DR, agents of the Zhentarim made contact with the asabi of Azirrhat in order to garner allies for their takeover of overland trade across Anauroch.[1]
Until shortly after 1372 DR, when the Shadovar returned and destroyed it, armands maintained a trading post and monastery on Azzirhat.[5]
Rumors & Legends[]
Some native Bedine people spoke of finding deposits of gold within the clefts found between the peaks.[1]
Inhabitants[]
The caverns and chasms beneath Azirrhat were home to a large population of asabis, nocturnal lizard-folk hunters that threatened any creatures who dared pass close by the peaks at night.[1]
Sazeztlorund, a young male pink dragon, made his lair in the caves beneath Azirrhat.[3]
