Balduran Founds a City was a fanciful scroll of colorful and exaggerated prose of inflated importance dedicated to the hero Balduran, and the city of Baldur's Gate, penned sometime before the late 14th century DR.[1]
Contents[]
The scroll proclaimed Balduran to be a sailor of exquisite renown who was believed to have had founded the city of Baldur's Gate many years before the 14th century DR. Most notable part of the work was the dragon Ansur, who was Balduran's guardian and friend. The majestic creature of bright scales and brighter breath was eventually betrayed and killed. His body was laid beneath the stones of the area that would be named Wyrm's Crossing.[1]
History[]
In the Year of Three Ships Sailing, 1492 DR, a copy of Balduran Founds a City was available for purchase at The Bibliophile, a book shop in the Lower City of Baldur's Gate.[1]
