Bane was an enchantment spell that sapped enemy morale and reduced their combat effectiveness.[3] A conjuration version was known by the name curse and was the reverse of bless.[13][14][15][16]
Effects[]
Those enemies cursed were inflicted with trepidation and doubt, lowering their morale and dulling their skill in combat.[3][13][14][15]
Bane countered and dispelled bless and vice versa.[3][13][14][15]
After Second Sundering, the bane and bless spells didn't counter and dispel each other but were opposites of each other.[16]
Components[]
This spell required only verbal and somatic components, and the caster's (un)holy symbol or divine focus.[3] The conjuration version required unholy water.[13][14][15] The later enchantment version used a drop of blood.[16]
