Barking Seal was the village chieftain of the Ice Hunters that dwelled on the isle of Oyaviggaton as of the 1480s DR.[1][note 1]
Relationships[]
He had a strong bond with his village's shaman Bonecarver. Together the two did all the speaking to outsiders for their people.[1]
If any outlander refused to leave their home, Barking Seal would propose the village's champion Orcaheart. If Orcaheart won, the Ice Hunters would receive any of the visitors' more finely-crafted weapons.[2]
History[]
Some time in the 1480s DR, Barking Seal and Bonecarver greeted a band of adventurers from the Sword Coast at their village.[2]

Notes[]
- ↑ Canon material does not provide a year for the Tyranny of Dragons storyline, but in a forum post, Greg Marks stated it was set in 1489 DR. However, the events of the Tyranny of Dragons are discussed in the novel Archmage, which is set in 1485/1486 DR and has events that necessarily put it after The Rise of Tiamat. Since this inconsistency has not been cleared up, this wiki will use the vague term "1480s DR" for events related to this storyline, though it is most likely no latter than 1486 DR.
