Barleycakes, also called oatcakes, were a simple morningfeast dish found in several locales of Faerûn.[3]

Description[]

Oatcakes were a common type of food that dated back to the age of ancient Netheril. There, oatcakes were sprinkled with salt and served with maple syrup, dried herring, game meat such as bear, deer, or bison, and accompanied with water or ale.[1]

Oatcakes and fruit was a morningfeast served in the town of Sundabar in the Silver Marches,[3] fried to order on a griddle.[5] These breads were also available in Arabel's The Hungry Man eatery,[2] and in establishments in Calimshan.[6]

Barleycakes were also considered to be staples of dwarven cuisine.[4]
