The Barrowfield was a large, misty glade within Mistledale that had over a dozen mounds dotting its landscape. The origin of the Barrowfield was a mystery, but it was speculated to be the burial grounds for Dalesmen who lived before the signing of the Dales Compact. Local rumors suggested the area was haunted.[1]
The Barrowfield was located about 30 mi (48.2 km) east of Peldan's Helm.[1]
