The Belt family of Baldur's Gate was one of the noble patriar families that composed the city's aristocracy in the late 15th century DR.[1]

They owed their wealth to the business holdings related to the sale and exchange of horses.[1] Many of these fine animals were sold to those travelers that journeyed along the Trade Way.[2]
