Beregost lies halfway on the Coast Way between Baldur's Gate and Amn. In 1368 DR while Beregost offical government is a five-person town council,[1] in reality, the town is run the governor,[1] Kelddath Ormlyr, who is also the high priest of Song of the Morning a major temple to Lathander.[1] By 1372 DR, Beregost is recorded as having no "official government" and "being run by the high priest of the major temple to Lathander". [2] The town receives many visiting merchant caravans and has a wide array of inns and taverns.[3]
History
Beregost was founded around a school of magic run by the wizard Ulcaster, but now lies in ruins to the east of the town (at the hands of Calishite wizards).[4]
