Blending was an arcane illusion and alteration spell that allowed to caster to blend in with their surroundings.[1]

Effects[]

This spell only worked on subjects of man-size or smaller. The spell's magic caused the subject to appear to be part of its surroundings. Their appearance could be changed for the duration of the spell if the subject conentrated on doing so. The subject's friends and allies would view them normally. Viewers with higher intelligence stood a greater chance of seeing through the spell when they came within 30 feet (9.1 meters) of the caster.[1]

Components[]

In addition to verbal and somatic components, this spell required as a material component a dried piece of chameleon skin to cast.[1]

History[]

Knightengale, a paladin in Cormyr during the 14th century DR, wore a suite of plate armor enchanted with the blending property.[2]
