The so-called blood sauce was a popular condiment that originated from Calimshan in West Faerûn.[1]

Description[]

Despite its colorful name, Calishite blood sauce contained no bodily fluid. Instead, the bloody color was achieved by cooking tomatoes into a mildly-spicy and unsweetened chili sauce. The condiment was served[1] with pan-fired quipper fish as evenfeast at the Yawning Portal in the City of Splendors, Waterdeep.[2]
