Blowfish venom was a highly toxic substance extracted from blowfish found inhabiting the Sea of Swords.[1]
Effects[]
For it to be deadly, blowfish venom must be ingested or applied to a weapon and introduced into the bloodstream via injury. The first symptoms of the poisoning were nausea and shortness of breath, and eventually, it led to death within just several minutes.[1]
Once poisoned, one had to apply vinegar-based anti-venom and immediately seek priestly or medical aid.[1]
History[]
In the Year of Wild Magic, 1372 DR, vials of blowfish venom were used by the sailors and pirates of the Nelanther Isles in the Sea of Swords.[1]
