Booter was the dungeon master and the "official torturer" of the Shadow Thieves in Amn in the late 14th century DR.[1]
Description[]
Booter was a gnomish[note 1] man with an untidy, uneven beard and a single yellow tooth.[2][1]
Possessions[]
Booter was adorned in leather armor, sometimes preferring a set of studded leathers instead. He carried an enchanted +1 flail, a small shield, and had an enchanted +2 greatsword at the ready.[1]
History[]
By the Year of the Gauntlet, 1369 DR, Booter was a well-respected member of the Shadow Thieves who manned the guild's torture chambers in Aran Linvail's hideout located in the Wave District's docks. He considered himself to be an artisan and master of his craft – the gnome's pride and joy. At the time, Booter's apprentice was a youth named Douglas who passed the torturer pliers, saws, and other instruments of information extraction.[1]

Notes[]
- ↑ The novel erroneously depicts Booter as a human and as the jailer of Jon Irenicus's. However, the Baldur's Gate novels are considered non-canon; as such, the game lore takes precedence.
