A brooch of shielding was a magical protective device. A full-capacity brooch had a base value of 1,500 gp.[5]
Appearance[]
A brooch of shielding was a small piece of jewelry used to fasten a cloak or cape. They were often made of silver or gold.[5][6][7] Most commonly, brooches of shielding were adorned with Mystra's or Azuth's holy symbols.[8]
Powers[]
A brooch of shielding could harmlessly absorb the force darts from a magic missile spell directed at the wearer. A single brooch could only absorb a set amount of energy before melting.[5][6][7]
