Calabash was a fruit-bearing vine that grew in Maztica and was one of the main food sources for the Azuposi humans who dwelled there.[1]

Calabash vines were known to grow in the Pasocada Basin of Maztica. These fruits were cultivated by the Azuposi, along with pigweed, goosefoot, squash, prickly pear, juniper, mayz, beeweed, pinyon pine, various beans, melons, as well as other types fruit.[1]
