Candle Lane, also known as Candle Alley,[4] was a minor avenue of hard-packed earth and gravel[2] in the Dock Ward of Waterdeep.[1][2][3]
Geography[]
This curving road ran from east to west, running northwest off of the Way of the Dragon and terminating at Book Street. At Candle Lane's northeast end, it ended at the Way of the Dragon at a three-way junction with Zastrow Street.[1][2][3][4]
History[]
This street got its name from the gloomy overcast caused by the tall buildings that overhung it. The bookish sorts who traveled down the lane by candle light were often the target of thieves, but by the mid 14th century DR the street was heavily heavily patrolled.[4]

- Thirsty Throat, a tavern that stood at its eastern end,[4] at the corner of its junction with Zastrow Street.[5]
