"The Scrivener's Tale" is a short adventure module for 14th–level players, collected in the anthology Candlekeep Mysteries, where players are cursed by an archfey and must find a way to free themselves.

Synopsis[]

In 1492 DR, a group of adventurers in Candlekeep are accidentally exposed to The Scrivener's Tale, a cursed tome that is supposed to be locked away. The adventurers are afflicted with a debilitating curse, courtesy of the Princess of the Shadow Glass, an archfey trapped inside the tome. The adventurers must travel to Baldur's Gate to track down the tome's previous owner, before confronting the Princess in the ruins of Delimbiyran.
