This is a convenience subcategory of melee weapons that groups swords and sword-like weapons together with knives and anything else that fits the archetype of blade. Individual weapons should not be put in this category but rather in the subcategories. Groups of weapons that span more than one subcategory may be put here, but they should also be members of the subcategories for completeness.
