The light weapons category describes those weapons that are easiest to use in the off-hand (easier than weapons in the next heavier category, i.e., one-handed weapons).[1] The main differences between light and one-handed weapons are:
- Light weapons can be drawn or used to attack an opponent while grappling.[2]
- There is no advantage to wielding a light weapon with two hands.[1]
An unarmed strike is always considered a light weapon.[1]
