A chakram was a small, ring-shaped throwing disk.[2]
Description[]
Chakrams were flat metal[2] (often steel[1][4]) disks ranging from 5 in (0.13 m) to 1 ft (0.3 m) in radius[1] with a sharpened rim[1][2] and a rounded inner edge.[1] They usually weighed between 0.5‒2 lb (230‒910 g).[1][2] They were often covered in intricate engravings.[1]
Weaponology[]
Chakrams were typically either thrown in a manner similar to a discus[1] or spun around one's index finger and then released. Warriors typically carried these in groups of a half dozen, either around their arms or a conical turban.[4]
Notable Users of Chakrams[]
The chakram was the favored weapon of priests of the goddess Shar. She was said to carry a magical chakram called the Disk of Night.[5][6]
