The Char was a district in the City of Brass[1][3] dedicated to metalworking businesses.[2][3]
Description[]
This walled section held slave barracks, tenements,[1] and several smelters. As well as a massive forge known as "Firespring" that was used to construct fire archons to act as soldiers.[4] The smell of molten metal was prevalent throughout the district.[2]
Notable Locations[]
- Forge of Manacles, an establishment that was dedicated to making manacles and shackles for the city's slaves.[2][3]
- Locksmith's Row, an establishment that was dedicated to making the fasteners for the manacles and shackles used on the city's slaves.[2][3]
- Red Wyrm Smelter, an area with several slave-operated workshops that refined the great quantities of ore brought into the city.[2][3]
Inhabitants[]
As property of the Sultan, the slaves here worked for the smelters, smithies, and assorted crafts shops.[1]
