Chess Variations of the Masters of Old Impiltur was a book on the game of chess in the kingdom of Impiltur.[1]
In the Year of the Gauntlet, 1369 DR, at the conclusion of the abraxus affair in Cormyr, Giogioni Wyvernspur spent half a night studying Chess Variations of the Masters of Old Impiltur to have a chance of beating King Azoun IV at chess.
