Chicory was a species of plant found in Faerûn.[1] Much like cocoa or coffee beans, its roots were often used to brew a sort of drink.[1][2]

- According to some, the process to create a staff of command involved boiling the wood of an ash tree in an ointment made of chicory and the hide of a spirit naga.[4]
- In the field of candle magic, chicory root was a necessary ingredient to create candles that, once lit, gave off an effect similar to the spells blink, see invisibility, or shield.[5]
