City Guard (Halwa)

The City Guard of Halwa served as a police force within the city as well as a standing army for the "City of Solitude".^[1]

Organization[]

The composition of the city guard as of 1367 DR^{[note 1]} was 3,000 guardsmen, 500 palace guards, and 1,000 mercenary cavalry. Zarad also had a personal guard of 200 men and could call upon another 200 jann if needed.^[1]

Activities[]

The mercenaries for the cavalry were hired from the surrounding desert tribes on five year contracts.^[1]
