Cocktails were elaborate drinks, prepared on the spot and were made using several ingredients.[6] They were known as brightsongs in Silverymoon, Neverwinter, and Waterdeep; manyslakes in Waterdeep, Scornubel, Iriaebor, Cormyr, and Sembia; ralivarthrem in Amn and Tethyr; ravalankh in Calimshan and the Tashalar; and drarraval in Turmish, the Vilhon Reach, and Chessenta.[1] They were served in large establishments, such as the Yawning Portal,[2] and found on other planes, such as the Wandering Emporium and Dragon's Pride[7] in Avernus.[5]

Manyslakes of Faerûn were widely varied across the realms, from simple concoctions of several types of alcoholic drinks, non-alcoholic drinks, spices, to complex and showy colorful drinks that produced steam, flames, or were enchanted via magic.[3]

- Blazing Bloody Jack, a sweet and spicy drink from Avernus that posessed the effects of a potion of heroism.[7]
- Delayed Blast a strong drink of sarrak, a juice made from cherries called red tenth, and the garden vegetable sweetstalk.[8]
- Dragon's Bite, a drink of green mint wine, pepper brandy, cinnamon powder, and licorice root.[8]
- Dragon's Morning Breath, a drink that tastes like "Dragon's Morning Piss."[3]
- Fizzy Cherry Delight, a sweet fizzy drink.[3]
- Flaming Gullet, a drink made with klaraunth (a strong and clear distilled barley alcohol), a distillate of hot red radishes, a distillate of horseradish, and finely crushed and powdered chestnuts.[8]
- Joker's Sky, a blue drink from Avernus, topped with whipped foam that posessed the effects of a potion of flying.[7]
- Red Rum Swirl, a sweet drink of cherry brandy, rum, almond brandy and stirred-in caramel.[8]
- Salubra Slinger, a fizzy berry-flavored drink from Avernus that posessed the effects of an elixir of health.[7]
- The Moon's Head Brace, an immensely alcoholic drink white drink flavored with mushrooms.[4]
- The Walking Furniture, an immensely alcoholic drink made with hard apple cider mixed with a taint of brownish liquor.[4]
- Tyr's Juice of Justice, an orange drink that temporarily boosted the drinker's musculature through illusion magic.[3]
- Volo's Folly, a drink that made the imbiber's skin sparkle.[3]
- Yeti's Breath, a freezing cold drink of crushed ice and tapdragon with added darsargar and menthol.[8]
Other notable cocktails were: Tansar's Dance, Marthoun's Flagon, Dragondown, Ladydagger, Bright Blade, Wyvernblood, Sea Ward Slake, Snowfire, Nightfire, Lightning Bolt, Battle Banner, Merchants' Tears, Harbour Foam, Stag at Bay, and Caravan Lantern.[9]
History[]
In the late 15th century DR, West Caraway Acres, a mansion outside Neverwinter that belonged to the eccentric dragonborn wizard Torlinn Shrake, shared a variety of magic-enhanced cocktails during his lavish parties.[10][3]
