Cording mallets, or splitting mauls,[2] were axe-like mauls[3] sometimes used by rangers or woodsmen throughout the wilds of Faerûn.[1]
Availability[]
Aurora's Whole Realms Catalogue offered a cording mallet for 10 gold pieces. It had a solid steel head weighing a hefty 20 pounds (9.1 kilograms) that was attached to a steel handle that weighed an additional 5 pounds (2.3 kilograms).[1]
Usage[]
Cording mallets were used specifically for splitting logs or chopped wood. Though cumbersome and a bit unwieldy, cording mallets could also be used as weapons.[1]
