Crimes of the Moonmaiden was a Sharran text, penned in or before the 15th century DR by The Anti-Lunar League.[1]

Woe unto any who throws their lot in with Selûne! Four ways she has of pulling the wool over one's eyes.
— Excerpt from Crimes of the Moonmaiden[1]

Content[]

The Crimes of the Moonmaiden scroll was a work of heresy aimed to undermine the Selûnite teachings in favor or the Sharran worship. The work claimed that Selûne would make her worshipers to think that their husband was a werewolf if he only forgot to shave. She scroll also stated that Selûne was always changing, making it hard for the painters to capture her image. The Anti-Lunar League also claimed the tides on Selûne, as well as claimed that the moon's association with femmininity brought forth countless examples of derivative poetry.[1]

History[]

In the Year of Three Ships Sailing, 1492 DR, copies of the Crimes of the Moonmaiden scrolls were found within the library of the Cloister of Sombre Embrace, a secret Sharran sect underneath the Lower City of Baldur's Gate, as well as sold by Nansi Gretta in her Lower City bookstore, The Bibliophile.[1]
