Curry, also known as hotspice in Faerûn,[1] was a stewed dish made with a variety of spices, including a spice mix of the same name, found in the southern regions of the Utter East[7] and Durpar,[5] and exported from Shou Lung.[9]

Utter East curry often smelled of cinnamon[7] and ginger.[11]

In the city of Mirabar in the Savage Frontier, curry was made of rice, many eggs, lamb kidneys, almonds, and other kitchen leftovers. That delightful dish was served at The Sign of the Forgehammer and was a highlight for the eatery's menu. The nearby mountain town of Hundelstone served curried hare in brandy and roasted on skewers.[2]
The Painted Boat Restaurant in Ravens Bluff sold curried goat.[3]
Curried nuts were a customary food from Vaelan in the nation of Durpar in the Shining South.[5]
In Innarlith in the Land of the Lions, platters of curried eels were served as a delicacy.[6]
In Zakhara, rice was curried with onions and raisins, and served in huge tureens alongside other dishes.[8]
Curry was a common dish cooked for sailors and passengers aboard the Butterfly that sailed the Sea of Swords. It was said to be almost as hot and spicy as Maztican stews.[13]
A gnomish and halfling delicacy called bhaerulb was a curry made with mealworms and onions (or substituted with leeks).[14] Common handfoods in the Realms were handpies, and some of them were stuffed with curries.[15] Sornstag was a dish of curried venison, another common dish from across the Realms.[1]
