Custard was a type of food used in a variety of dishes, made from milk, cheese, or cream cooked with egg.

It was yellow, wobbly,[1] and sticky, especially when thrown in one's face.[2]
Usage[]
It was often served in the form of custard pastries[3][4] and custard tarts.[5][6]
Crema Athkatla was an Amnian sweet custard dish named for Athkatla. It became popular in Port Nyanzaru in Chult in the late 1400s DR following Amnian occupation.[7]
Availability[]
Custard pastries were familiar in the city of Arrabar in Chondath[3][4] and were one of Emriana Matrell's favorites.[3] Miniature custard pastries were served during Sammardach at the palace called the Generon, which Lobra Mestel filled up on.[4]
Custard tarts were a perennial favorite dessert in Waterdeep, sometimes covered with blackberries or tart cheese.[6]
History[]
Bee-laden honeycomb and grapefruit wedges in custard dusted with cinnamon was among the many delicacies served at a banquet in the Palace of the Phoenix in Cursrah in −6048 DR.[8]
In a vision had by Arilyn Moonblade in the Year of the Wave, 1364 DR, Danilo Thann cast a Snilloc's cream pie spell and hurled a custard-and-cream tart at an elven archer to rescue her.[2]
In the Year of the Banner, 1368 DR, when Jasmine, Joel, and Emilo visited Fermata, the divine realm of Finder Wyvernspur, they found the god presenting them with an enormous breakfast, including custard. Jas had the custard.[9]
A baking contest held by Baron Lorien Keltree Darkarrow in Mossbridges in the Vast at the end of the Year of the Unstrung Harp, 1371 DR, saw a custard-filled coconut cake submitted by Boseth. He added the custard whilst the cake was cooling, and the results were delicious. However, saboteurs used unseen servant to cause the cake to explode upon being cut, splattering the assembled nobles and merchants and triggering a general food fight.[10]
