Cyric's Legion was an army amassed by Szass Tam, the Zulkir of Necromancy in Thay, in the mid-to-late 14th century DR. It was named for the god Cyric.[1][2]
History[]
The Legion was the successor to Tam's undead Myrkul's Legion, which suffered a major defeat in an attempted invasion of Rashemen in the Year of the Prince, 1357 DR. Following the Time of Troubles, Cyric's Legion was made into Tam's largest military force, and he continued to swell its ranks with undead in preparation for civil conflict with his Thayan rivals.[1][2] That conflict would come to be known as the War of the Zulkirs, and lasted from the Year of Risen Elfkin, 1375 DR until the Year of Blue Fire, 1385 DR.[3][4]
Members[]
Cyric's Legion was comprised at least partly of dread warriors. Tam placed an emphasis on increasing his numbers of these undead soldier during of the 1360s and 1370s DR.[1][2]
