Darkdust was a variety of enchanted powder that could impede a foe's vision[1] that was popular in the the Dalelands in the 14th century DR.[2]
Description[]
This powder resembled coarse sand and was gray in coloration. It was typically contained within small black bags or pouches, with enough of the substance for one to three doses.[1]
Powers[]
Darkdust could only affect creatures that were living humanoids of 4 to 8 feet (1.2 to 2.4 meters) in height. When thrown at such a target, the creature would be completely enveloped in a cloud of inky blackness. If the powder's magic was resisted, the target would only be afflicted with temporary blindness.[1]
The effect of darkdust could be negated by the cure blindness spell.[1]
Notable Owners[]
Most guilds in the Dalelands possessed one or more pouches of darkdust.[2]
