By the time adventurers were sent by Marcus Rubicon to Stag Falls, Darrold was an obvious zombie disguised by the disguise undead spell.[1]

As a zombie, Darrold was present in patrols.[1]
Relationships[]
Darrold's friend Clarissa continued to labor at the castle, believing he was being held hostage by Romanisk Vlaensk, who controlled him after turning him into a zombie.[1]
History[]
Darrold had been taken hostage to secure the services of the fletcher Clarissa after Baron Vilhelm von Stag Falls was turned undead and controlled by the vampire Romanisk Vlaensk whom he accidentally had unearthed from beneath his castle at some point around the Year of the Shield, 1367 DR. However, he was not preserved as a hostage, being instead the vampire's dinner; to ensure Clarissa remained at work, he was enspelled with a disguise undead spell, which made him present as a live individual. Adventurers were sent later to investigate; they may have revealed the deception to Clarissa, and they may also have destroyed the zombie. If they mistakenly buried him, he was bound to rise as a new vampire later.[1]
