Deep dragons, also called purple dragons, were a type of chromatic dragon[5] that lived in the Underdark.[1]
Description
Despite their large size, deep dragons were slender and agile, allowing them to crawl through the tunnels of the Underdark. In the light, the dragons' scales were the color of amethyst, but in the dark, they appeared nearly black.[1]
Ecology
Purple dragons inhabited the Underdark and were rarely known on the surface.[1]
Combat
A deep dragon's breath weapon was psychic and caused the target to be dazed or dominated, depending on the strength of the wyrm.[1]
Deep dragons were harmed by direct sunlight.[1]
