History[]
Dempster Turmish was a young nobleman of Alaghôn who'd operated as a mercenary captain, selling his mercenaries' services to the highest bidders. After years of building up his forces, he used his mercenary army to attack two rival nobles of Alaghôn. After a short but bloody civil war, Dempster emerged unopposed as ruler of the proud city and named himself mayor in the Year of Thirteen Prides Lost, 132 DR.[1]
He quickly embarked on an expansionary military campaign, seizing control of the lands surrounding Alaghôn all the way to the lowlands outside of Hlondeth.[1]
However, despite repeated attempts he was unable to conquer the city, and died in his sleep in the Year of the Lost Library, 150 DR, while preparing for yet another invasion.[1]
