The doublecross bow was a drow repeating light crossbow found between worlds in the mid-1480s DR.[1][note 1]
Description[]
The crossbow had sensible wooden furniture with a top-loading bolt magazine. It was based on the same classic designs as drow hand crossbows, and used a nightshade or hemlock venom to incapacitate foes with a single hit.[1]
Powers[]
The doublecross bow was magically enhanced to pierce through armor and cause crippling wounds in the target.[1]
History[]
The crossbow, once of Faerûn's Underdark, emerged unexpectedly in the city of Stormreach in Eberron following the destruction of the Spinner's Prison in Khyber, when Lolth tore open a huge portal from the Demonweb Pits.[1]

Notes[]
- ↑ Menace of the Underdark (including Web of Chaos) is dated to the period of 1484–1485 DR, as it references the ongoing Darkening. Shadowfell Conspiracy (including Disciples of Shadow, Shadow Under Thunderholme, The Druid's Deep, and The High Road of Shadows) are dated to the same period, as they are stated to take place at roughly the same time as Menace of the Underdark.
