A dulcimer was a stringed instrument known in the Realms.[4] The Zakharan version was known as a santur.[5]
Description[]
The dulcimer had strings stretched over a sounding board, which was typically trapezoidal in shape. The strings would be plucked or struck with a hammer. The santur was similar in appearance to the qanun.[5]
They were also popular instruments in Damara, where they provided hearthside entertainment.[2]
A dulcimer typically cost 25 gp and weighed 10 lb (4,500 g).[6][3] Dulcimers produced by Damaran craftsmen were available for purchase through Aurora's Whole Realms Catalogue.[2]
