Background[]

  • The author of this adventure module says that it was inspired by the poem Ozymandias by Percy Bysshe Shelley.[1]
  • In the opening page of the adventure, the author notably suggests that Dungeon Master's running Desert of Desolation could rework the adventure's dungeon as a location for one of the five Star Gems of Martek.[1]
  • In terms of recommended reading, the module's author suggests one pick up a copy of Old Empires.[1]
  • Despite being a 2nd edition adventure, the sidebar for the flail of the desert kings refers to an insanity chart in the 1st edition Dungeon Master's Guide.[2]
