The chalice's magics, or the effects created by the liquid inside, allowed the used to temporarily see into their opponent's mind and change their strategy in the chalice's owner's favor. Such events as fights or battles could be easily resolved in the chalice's owner's favor. If the target of the ebony cup's magic possessed an artifact, the chalice's user could temporarily turn the item's magic against the target.[1]
